Russian Olympic Committee Centennial 3 Ruble Coin
The Central Bank of the Russian Federation have issued a three Ruble coin for the occasion of the centennial anniversary of the foundation of the Russian Olympic Committee. The obverse design depicts a colorized image of the official logo of the Russian Olympic committee which includes a stylized version of the Olympic flame and rings. The inscription along the rim includes “СТОЛЕТИЕ СОЗДАНИЯ РОССИЙСКОГО ОЛИМПИЙСКОГО КОМИТЕТА” (The Centennial Anniversary of the Russian Olympic Committee Foundation).
The reverse design includes a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia which is the two-headed eagle with wings pointed down. The semi-circular inscription below the emblem “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA) is framed by a circle of beads. The inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin “ТРИ РУБЛЯ” (Three Rubles) is seen above the emblem and the year of issue “2011″ is positioned below. The coin is struck in sterling silver to a proof quality with a weight of 33.9 grams and a diameter of 39 mm. The mintage total is limited to just 2000 pieces.
